Coordinating Institution: National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest

The National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest (Politehnica Bucharest) is the largest technical university in Romania, with a long-standing tradition of excellence in engineering education and research. It fosters innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration across a broad range of scientific and technological fields. For high-performance computing purposes, we will use the powerful computing infrastructure available at the National Center for Information Technology (NCIT) within NUSTPB (EERIS short link). Led by members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NCIT plays a pivotal role in advancing research in information and communication technologies (ICT). Its mission focuses on promoting advanced, interdisciplinary research activities, fostering innovative collaboration between ICT and other scientific domains, and nurturing human potential through specialized IT education and student programs.

For the experimental evaluation of the project, we benefit from the collaboration with the Research and Development Institute for Bovine’s (RDIB) and the experimental farm in Balotesti, Romania. The experimental farm houses over 240 cattle (dairy cows, replacement heifers, young bulls and calves). Moreover, RDIB has housing animal facilities to accommodate the experiments under tied and loose housing conditions (including pastures), veterinarians, technicians and animal-caretakers trained for research trials on cattle nutrition, reproduction, health and behavior.
